    Private clients

    We advise our clients on estate planning, encompassing succession, matrimonial and tax considerations, as well as the establishment of asset holding structures.

    In succession matters, we advise our clients on the drafting of their testamentary dispositions, and assist heirs in the acquisition of estates, the assessment of their liability with respect to debts, and the distribution and settlement of estates. We also assist legatees, in particular foundations, in obtaining delivery of their legacies.

    We advise and assist executors, court-appointed administrators and estate representatives in all aspects of estate administration.

    We represent heirs and legatees before the courts in all forms of succession disputes — actions for nullity, for reduction, for judicial partition, challenges to testamentary dispositions, and litigation relating to trusts and foundations.

    Tax

    We advise our private clients on all aspects of their personal taxation, assisting them in establishing their domicile in Switzerland, negotiating their lump-sum taxation arrangements and advising them on the impact of business transactions on their personal taxation.

    We advise legal entities on tax matters, particularly in connection with the acquisition and sale of companies, reorganizations, mergers and demergers.

    We represent our clients in negotiations with the tax authorities (tax rulings) and represent them before the Swiss administrative courts in disputes.

    Trusts, estate planning and administration

    • We advise our clients on the organization and taxation of assets. Our Swiss affiliate company Tax Lex Trustee SA, a FINMA-licensed financial institution, is authorised to set up trusts and act as trustee.

    • We assist our clients in commercial transactions, in the drafting and negotiating of contracts, in setting up, selling and acquiring companies, and structuring, restructuring, negotiating and managing commercial transactions, including advising on their tax consequences.

    • We advise banks, financial institutions, financial services providers and operators of collective investment schemes on their contractual relationships and regulatory and prudential obligations and organise regulatory filings where and when required.
    • We assist and represent our clients in the establishment of their relationship with a bank and any difficulties they may encounter.

    We represent individuals and entities affected by criminal offences in defending their interests and recovering their damages.

    We assist foreign governments in matters of international judicial cooperation in particular the freezing and recovery of criminal assets.
